We've all heard Jack Bauer said "This is the longest day of my life." in 24. Well, yesterday was mine. One of my best friend's brother got married yesterday and I finally had the excuse I needed to go to Ipoh which isn't that far but I haven't been able to slot it in lately. Excuses, I know.

I haven't seen a sunrise for quite a while now, usually I go out for lunch only and skip breakfast. Yesterday we started the journey quite early, 6.55am to be exact. We stopped at Rawang's R&R for breakfast and had another brunch at Nuhaa when we arrived in Ipoh. Fadhli, Fitri and the gang also joined us for breakfast.

After Nuhaa we went straight to Simpang Pulai, to see what the reception looks like. It was ok. Met a LOT of old friends there, it wasn't all sweet cause I keep getting the "how many kids do you have now" question. Bloody busy body. I should be more sarcastic with my answers.

We got bored of waiting for Mus and Ane to come, we went to kopitiam to kill time and went to the newly opened botanical garden. Rested a while at Pejabat Haluan thanks to Fadhli.

Went back to Simpang Pulai cause Mus was already pissed we kept him waiting, and drove back to KL. It was around 7pm I think and what was supposed to be a 2 hours drive back home turned really REALLY reaaaally bad.

Worst jam ever. EVER. It was moving slow up til Sungkai then it stopped moving. Like 1m per minute. Hours flew by without a clue of whats causing the massive jam. The highway patrol said a truck burned. But for over 20km there was no sign of anything. PLUS wasn't picking up the "24 Hours" so-called hotline. There was no toilet, R&R, stop, exits, anything. Crazy 3 lanes of jam. My car was giving problems with the A.C. So it was freekin hot. For the first time in my life I had to pee at the side of the road. (lmao) My wife's face turned pale trying to hold the urge to pee cause I don't think women can pee at the side of the road.

After the road cleared, I saw a lot of cranes at the side of the road. It turned out that a 300 ton crane burnt down at km 370 just before Slim River exit.

We arrived home at 3.30am. 8 hours trip from Ipoh to KL anyone? I could've clocked Penang to JB in 8 hours, not a 160km trip to Ipoh.

P.s No picture of the jam, I was so pissed and wasn't in the mood to take any pics.
